Banana-Oat Smoothie

This was part of our breakfast this morning.  It’s a filling smoothie and all of my kids loved it.  I’ve tried using oatmeal in smoothies before, but never liked the consistency, so I decided to use oat flour instead this time.  Oat flour is simply oatmeal ground very fine.  I can taste the oatmeal in the smoothie, but the consistency is so much smoother.

Blend together until smooth:

  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk (I used almond milk)
  • 3 T oat flour
  • 2 bananas (1 frozen, 1 fresh)
  • 2 tsp honey (I used local, raw honey from a friend)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Yum, yum!

I use a Ninja blender and have been very happy with it!  It blends up anything and everything I throw into it…and the best part is that it’s all dishwasher safe, making clean-up super fast!

These are the smoothie straws I use.  We LOVE them!  They’re easy to clean and we eliminate throwing away plastic straws every day!

Well, off to take my daughter to preschool!  Sometimes short posts are good, right?!?  😉
