Kids Kitchen Chefs Club

I’ve been following Kids Kitchen on Facebook for quite some time now because of all the healthy recipes and tips the creator, Leah Smith, shares with her readers. Leah is a registered dietitian and nutritionist in Texas and she recently contacted me about a really cool cooking program she created for kids…as well as a giveaway for one of my readers!! Kids Kitchen Chefs Club is training the next generation to cook for themselves using the revolutionary new concept of a virtual Chefs Club. Using this online classroom program, your child (or grandchild/niece/nephew!) can learn to cook like a chef from the comforts of your own home.

Leah offered to send me this product/program to try out with my own kids and, while I’m highly interested in the future, I’m not sure I have the extra time right now to work with my daughter on the training (since she only just turned six). I want to note that she is plenty old enough for the program and I know she would LOVE doing it with me…so please don’t tell her I passed up this super cool opportunity due to my own lack of extra time! I think it would especially be great for older kids who can take charge and do more on their own. I told Leah I would still love to share this program with my readers because I think it’s something many of you may be interested in (and it would make a great gift idea, too). I obviously think it’s such an important skill for kids to learn how to cook and eat healthy from an early age!

I will let Leah tell you a little more about her program…

The online virtual classroom program called Chefs Club caters to young children with a passion for cooking and developing culinary skills. We try to get kids excited about healthy foods and help them learn to prepare foods to support a healthy lifestyle.

Chefs Club teaches children (ages 5-15) essential culinary skills along with nutrition education to help build lifelong skills and habits to carry on into adulthood. In today’s busy world, it can be hard to fit in all of the extracurricular activities and after-school programs, therefore this program allows you to work at your own pace, in your own home but encourages you to finish each level by offering prizes and incentives. By the end of the experience, the child has mastered many skills and feels a great sense of accomplishment by completing the club. They are encouraged to submit a challenge recipe monthly to show the group their accomplishments and at the end of the program they are invited to a virtual chefs competition.

Chefs Club offers 10+ levels for young chefs to build and expand skills and confidence in the kitchen each month. Each chef will be sent cooking gear, utensils and a token for each level achieved. Once all of the levels have been mastered, the title of “Top Chef” will be awarded and you will be eligible to compete in Chefs Club Top Chef Competition with an awarded Trophy!

If you don’t have any kids in your house (or kids of the right age), but know someone that you think might enjoy this, please share with them!! I know lots of kids that would love being in a Chefs Club and have cooking assignments like this! Three months is a lot of time to learn some new skills! And what an important life skill to be learning, right??!

Note: I am not being paid in any way to share this program/giveaway with you. I simply think it looks like fun and something that many of my readers might be interested in for their own kids (or grandkids/nieces/nephews/etc).

Hi there! Here's a little info about me: I've been married to my husband for over 10 years and I'm a stay-at-home mom to our three young kids (a six year old daughter and four year old twin boys). As you might imagine, they keep me quite busy! In early 2013, we decided that we wanted to be a healthier family. To do this, we cut out all processed foods from our home and we now eat only REAL, whole foods. (When we're on vacation or at someone's house, we're not quite as strict.) We also try to exercise every day. Our goal is to raise healthy, happy kids...while maintaining our own health and happiness along the way! I hope you will follow along with us in our journey.
